Job Responsibilities

The Global Compliance Audit Program Manager is responsible for managing the internal organizational audit function of global import and export Trade declarations and Trade compliance protocols, including contribution to planning, execution, and reporting of internal and external Trade compliance audits.  In addition, this position is responsible for providing backup support to Lam’s Technology Access Controls Program.

Other Job Responsibilities

 

Administration will entail:

 

  • Oversee U.S. and regional Customs Trade declarations, including Customs post-entry review and AES filing processes
  • Oversee review of U.S. and regional Trade compliance measures, including preparation of audit reports that identify potential deficiencies, risks, and issues, recommend corrective actions 
  • Design and implement internal audit process improvements to further enhance current comprehensive audit plan; provide innovative and creative ideas to formulate new audit approaches
  • Coordinate internal audit risk assessment and planning process (i.e. define coverage, schedule audits, collaborate with global resources, manage Customs brokers, monitor KPIs, etc.)
  • Update internal policies, procedures and programs, as necessary
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for inquiries from internal & external customers, third-party service providers, including but not limited to Customs Brokers, Bureau of Industry and Security, CBP, Census, etc.
  • Actively assist in preparation, management, and response to audits by Customs authorities globally
  • Provide expertise and training to staff on the audit process
  • Regular communication and coordination with Foreign Trade Management and Staff and other functional groups to drive continuous improvement
  • Establish a collaborative working relationship with regional operations, brokers, logistics, and supply chain groups
  • Support projects and tasks associated with Lam’s Technology Access Control Program
  • 10% - 15% Travel

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA degree in Business Administration or equivalent/applicable experience
  • 8-10 years of work experience with at least 5 years of Trade Compliance administration including import/export audit requirements
  • U.S. Customs Broker license required
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations/ U.S. Export Administration Regulations/Federal Regulations/ Customs Entry
  • Solid experience in International Logistics, Customs Compliance, Export Administration Regulations/AES Filing
  • Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Access reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized, accurate, and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional groups
  • Proactive and flexible with a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade Compliance Related Certifications a plus (e.g. Certified Customs Specialist, Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer)
  • Knowledge and experience with regional import operations a plus
  • Working knowledge and experience with tariff classification a plus
  • Experience with Other Government Agencies (e.g., FCC, TSCA) a plus
