Job Responsibilities

  • Execute projects for product development/improvement, product quality, and customer support.
  • Establishes and maintains lines of communication with HW engineering and SW development on design, reliability, to solve product issues and production problems.
  • Ensure suppliers’ quality performance for consistent and reliable products.
  • Conduct design reviews with cross-functional teams (CFT) and stakeholders to establish requirements and assure proper resourcing for tool installs, field upgrades. Contribute to design reviews to resolve hardware escalations.
  • Generate and release installation, maintenance, and upgrade procedures for new and existing hardware.
  • Involve in customer installation and training programs.

Other Job Responsibilities

  • GPS engineer who will provide technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex electro/mechanical equipment, computer systems, complex software, or networked and/or wireless systems.
  • Responds to situations where first-line product support has failed to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
  • Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineering/software engineering
  • Involved in customer installation and training.
  • Provides support to customer/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature.
  • Creates and presents reports related to design, reliability, maintenance problems, SW bugs, projects, and escalations to the relevant factory groups and creates and updates documentation for field service engineers and customers.
  • Lam Deposition, PECVD, Direct Metals, Gapfill equipment experience is preferred.
  • Can take place at the factory or in the field and can include travel with short notice (24-hour turnaround) ~25% - 30% Travel worldwide is a requirement of this position and includes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in product or systems engineering with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Of the required experience, minimum of 5 years of experience in the following: electro-mechanical system design and manufacturing; systems engineering and integration; statistical methods for modeling, multivariate data sets; statistical process control (SPC); Design of Experiments (DOE); vacuum systems; and/or semiconductors.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, fluent in English, strong presentation skills
  • Capable of structured problem solving (preferably using 8D methodology)
  • Teamwork and ability to establish successful relationships in a multicultural environment with external and internal customers.
  • Service orientated and ability to work in a matrix environment.

Preferred QualificationsPreferred Qualifications

  • Preferred experience: Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause-Corrective Action (RCCA), 8D & 5-Whys Problem solving.

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $117 - $216K

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
