Global Product Support Engineer 5

Provides support to customer/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature.

Provides technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex electro/mechanical equipment, computer systems, complex software, or networked and/or wireless systems.  

Responds to situations where first-line product support has failed to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.

  • The support:
    • Can take place at the factory or in the field depending on the need.
    • Can include travel at short notice (24 hours).
    •  Includes working in customer wafer fabrication sites / environments as required to fulfil the support function.

Creates and presents reports related to design, reliability, maintenance problems, SW bugs, projects and escalations to the relevant factory groups.  

Participates and leads as required Knowledge Management activities to share learning worldwide in order to expedite solutions, reduce repeat issues, escalations and improve cycle time closure.

Provides support to customer/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature.

Responsible for customer betas including installation, qualification, milestones, technical requirements, training and certification of local teams / customer.

Provides support to engineering and service products both at the factory and in the field.

Able to represent Lam by creating material and expertly presenting technical findings to the customer.

~25% worldwide travel is a requirement of the position.

Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.

    • Need to be able to work in confined spaces.
    • Need to be able to wear and function in full PPE. (Including respiratory equipment)
    • Need to be able to work with chemicals.
    • Need to be able to work 8-12 hour shifts. (Often in cleanroom environments)
    • Need to be able to complete facilities and equipment connections which will require climbing and bending.
