Key leadership role in Lam’s Pilot Operations organization.  The environment is fast-paced, challenging, and an opportunity to effect transformational change in a Fortune 500 company.  Position highlights:

Lead transformational change in how new products are engineered for manufacturing in a dynamic, multi-product, multi-factory, global company.
Responsible for defining and executing a unified Design for Manufacturability (DFMA)  vision across all product lines in Lam Research
Requires capability to collaborate effectively across organizational and functional boundaries to achieve world-class DFMA results.
Requires strong and balanced background in engineering, management, manufacturing, and operations.



Responsible for defining and executing a unified DFMA vision across all product lines in Lam Research
Partnering with Global Operations and Product Groups to set Lam’s corporate-level and product-level DFMA objectives and roadmaps
Defining and securing stakeholder alignment of engineering and workmanship standards required to meet Lam’s DFMA objectives
Developing and scaling a diverse team of engineers that effectively and positively influence the design and manufacturing of new products
Fostering a high-performance culture and holding managers accountable for team development in addition to business results.
Developing and maintaining predictive resource models that ensure adequate staffing can be maintained in a dynamic program and product environment
Delivering to product/program objectives for manufacturing quality, labor content, cycle time, and factory fitment.
Partnering with Lam’s Engineering and Manufacturing leadership teams to define systems and processes used to productize new system designs
Partnering with Pilot Manufacturing to ensure pre-release systems are shipped on-time and with like-new quality

Identifying and driving adoption of emerging technologies and practices that support Lam’s DFMA vision




·15+ years of related experience and at least 10+ years in engineering and/or manufacturing management or leadership positions of influence
·Experience leading and scaling technical teams of design, systems, and/or manufacturing engineers in a high-customization, low-volume (<1k units/yr) product environment.
·Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively across organizational and functional boundaries in a medium or large-sized organization.
·Excellent interpersonal communication and people management skills.
·Strong analytical skills, including statistical analysis. Prefer “Black Belt” equivalent certification in Six Sigma (demonstrated ability to teach others).
·Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty; the ability to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situations.
·Result oriented with ability to manage and scale an organization of 50+ engineers (direct and indirect reporting structure)
·Familiarity with virtual manufacturing and model-based-design (MBD) techniques
·Willingness to travel in support of global responsibility set (up to 15%, occasional international)


BS, MS, or PhD in appropriate engineering discipline
MBA or equivalent executive leadership experience is preferred
