The Impact You’ll Make

The IT Disaster Recovery Architect / Service Owner is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing disaster recovery plans and technical solutions to ensure Lam’s IT systems, applications and data are protected against disruptions. This role involves developing strategic recovery plans, integrating technologies, reviewing resiliency design for business-critical systems/applications, performing DR test, coordinating recovery efforts, and ensuring recovery processes are effective, efficient and aligned with company’s business resiliency objectives.

What You’ll Do

Architectural Design: Develop and design disaster recovery architectures for IT systems, applications, and data. Ensure these architectures meet Lam’s recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO). Decision-Maker for DR architectural design in the technical architecture forum and cloud reviews of business-critical systems and applications to ensure HA/DR requirements are met.

Solution Implementation: Implement disaster recovery solutions, including backup systems, replication technologies, and failover mechanisms. Ensure that these solutions are integrated seamlessly with existing IT infrastructure.

Risk Analysis: Conduct risk assessments and participate business impact analyses to identify vulnerabilities. Design recovery strategies to address identified risks and ensure business continuity.

Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans and strategies for business-critical systems/applications. Define recovery processes, roles and responsibilities for various types of disruptions. Ensure these plans are aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.

Testing and Validation: Organize and oversee regular testing of disaster recovery plans to validate the effectiveness of recovery strategies. Analyze test results and update plans as necessary based on findings. Perform recovery testing and DR certification of new business-critical applications.

Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for disaster recovery matters. Work closely with IT infrastructure, applications, Business Resilience teams and business units to understand their recovery needs and integrate these requirements into disaster recovery designs. Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure effective recovery operations.

Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to IT staff and other stakeholders on disaster recovery procedures and their roles during an incident. Lead the execution of recovery plans during and after a disaster or significant disruption. Ensure that recovery activities are executed efficiently and effectively to minimize downtime and operational impact.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of disaster recovery architectures, solutions, plans, procedures, and incident reports. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on recovery efforts and plan status.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that disaster recovery solutions and plans comply with relevant regulations, standards and industry best practices. Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends to incorporate innovative solutions.

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 12+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience. 
  • 12+ years of related experience in IT disaster recovery. 
  • Skilled in analytical techniques and practices to support problem solving.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, for various levels and audiences.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

 

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $129,000.00 -  $272,000.00.

 

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
