Mechanical Engineer at Lam Research.  Candidate will be responsible for Design, testing and documentation of complex high precision semiconductor etch capital equipment

 

Mechanical engineers in our group design and analyze mechanical systems, equipment and packaging. They conduct feasibility studies and perform tests on new and modified designs. They direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. They provide design information to drafting for packaging documentation.

 

All experience levels are welcome to apply, this includes new college graduates

  • Degree: Mechanical Engineering (BS,MS,PHD all considered)
  • Semiconductor experience
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Organized with good problem solving abilities
  • Effective communicator with the desire to understand all aspects of a problem and being able to dig deep into details of a problem.
  • Good presentation skills, ability to explain design details to coworkers of varying background
  • Strong CAD modeling abilities (NX, Pro E, Solidworks experience all fine). Lam uses NX so this is a plus
  • Strong technical skills (the more experience in below areas the better-in order of priority)
    • Machining rules of thumb for Aluminum, plastics and brittle materials (Ceramics, quartz etc)
    • Tolerance stack analysis
    • Finite Element analysis (Thermal and Structural)
    • Understanding of material properties for variety of materials (Plastics, metals, ceramics, quartz
  • Vacuum environment design experience (o-ring, vacuum fittings, helium leak check)
  • Reliability testing
  • Statistical analysis and data presentation
