Job Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging
  • Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs
  • Assist in providing feedback on others work including presentations, drawings and models, and communicating ideas and results to other engineers and management
  • Ensure documentations are consistent with SEMI, Lam Standards and other standards as applicable (ANSI, DIN etc.)
  • Provide design information to drafting for packaging documentation 
  • Directly support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication
  • Develop and present reports/presentations that communicate design intent, analysis, and validation at executive-level meetings
  • Work with potential suppliers to ensure parts can be manufactured in accordance with performance and cost objectives
  • Collaborate with cross functional team to ensure hardware designs meet overall product objectives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or a Master’s degree with 5 years’ experience; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent experience
  • Extremely knowledgeable using 3D CAD tools such as ProE, NX, etc. 
  • Knowledge of heat transfer & fluid mechanics
  • Mechanical Design background coupled with solid engineering skills 
  • Design experience with various types of materials such as metals, ceramics, polymers & elastomers
  • Ability to develop and execute test plans in lab environment
  • Experience in communicating with and directing suppliers for custom and commercial components
  • Ability to work in a team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Excellent skills and experiences in problem solving, time and priority management, communication, and project management
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance
  • Good communication skills, ability to work well with other teams to meet production goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Semiconductor industry experience is not required, but a plus
  • CAD (NX and Inventor)
  • Electro-Static Chuck (ESC) design experience
  • Thermal/flow simulation experience
  • Experience setting up and running reliability and HALT testing
  • Knowledge of material coatings such as anodize and spray coatings

 Salary and Benefits

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $98,000.00 -  $216,000.00

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
