Mechatronics Engineer 2 - EE

Job Responsibilities

• Initial role in supporting senior Electrical Engineer to document test requirements on new PCBA designs. Expected to take on independent design project within 6-12 months of starting
• Design work involving analog and digital circuitries, microcontroller, sensor devices (accelerometer, camera), wireless communication, wireless charging, low voltage power and battery management
• Design test fixture and methodologies for PCBA by reading from schematics and collecting design requirements from Design Engineer
• Create test FW as-required to automate testing of Digital IO’s or intra-device communications
• Responsible for system-level documentation of Motion Systems Controller hardware box
• Be involved in design process for controller box used in Motion Controller systems
• Create interconnect diagram and schematics
• Assist senior engineer in creating cable schematics requirements by interpreting schematics and high-level functional specs
• Work with Offshore remote team to communicate cable design requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a mechatronics background
• No minimum professional experience. New College Graduate accepted..
• Embedded FW and Software development background through school projects or internships
• Mechatronics curriculum with projects involving motor control and sensor integration. 
• Some level of electronics design through curriculum and interests / desire to learn on the job.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical engineering with mechatronics background preferred
• Embedded Firmware experience
• Can be gained through courses, projects, or hobbies.
• Familiarity with device communication protocols (SPI, I2C, RS232, RS485) and microcontroller (STM32 or Cypress PSocC)
