Essential Functions and Duties

The Global Spares Inventory Planning group is responsible for assuring the availability of spare parts and upgrade kits for North America customers as well as for regional depots in North America, Europe, and Asia. Planning methods rely on both the analysis of historical consumption and the technical expertise of new product evaluation, executed through the SAP Enterprise Resource Planning system and an integrated commercial multi-echelon planning application. The Product-Based Planning group within GSIP is responsible for assuring the availability of spare parts to achieve several key objectives:


• Successfully support start-up schedules for all NPI tools,

• Provide spares in support of repeat-order penetration plans and tool proliferation,

• Meet all spares deliverables for each PDR Phase Review,

• Deliver material to support customers' transition to Alternative Parts,

• Deliver spares material to meet margin and market share objectives.


Within the Product- Based Planning group, the current opening is for an Operations Business Analyst 5 to ensure correct sparing decisions for new products introduced at the direction of Lam's Global Product Group, and the planning of alternative spare parts as offered by Lam's Customer Support Business Group. S/he will deliver operational capability in system and process to enable the attainment of the goals listed above, including the analysis of inventory and service level data for gaps to KPI objectives, and associated root-cause and corrective action in coordination with regional operations.



BA/BS Information Technology, Business Administration or Applied Mathematics (APICS CPIM/CSCP preferred)

10 years experience in an MRP-based Planning or Purchasing operation

ERP familiarity; SAP experience strongly preferred

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills supporting the ability to solve complex cross-functional issues with multi-dimensional, conflicting needs.

Demonstrated ability to influence constructively across functions and organization levels.

Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to create and deliver presentations at peer and/or director level.

Advanced level proficiency in MS Excel and Access

Experience in service/spare parts planning is a plus

Semiconductor capital equipment product knowledge and relevant experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus
