Lam Research’s Customer Support Business Group (CSBG) focuses significant attention on delivering solutions that meets our customers’ technical requirements as well as productivity needs during the equipment lifecycle.  The Service Engineering group works with internal and external customers to increase productivity via software solutions.  We are technical owners for a portfolio of products that enhance productivity.  You will be working with engineers, tools owners, and field personal to create and/or maintain a solution for Lam and it’s customers.  We are aligned with Lam Core Values of Achievement, Agility, Honesty & integrity, Inclusion & diversity, Innovation & continuous improvement, Mutual trust & respect, Open communication, Ownership & accountability, and Teamwork.

Lam Research is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop/improve plasma reactors for Deposition and Etching. The candidate will be responsible for conducting fundamental research, designing and transferring scientific principles to industrial products.  This position can be based at either campus of Lam Research in Tualatin, Oregon OR Fremont, California. 

 

  • Responsible for EE projects such as designing power distribution panels, control systems etc. for the development of semiconductor equipment tools such as designing power distribution panels, control systems etc.
  • Responsible for gathering/accumulating requirements for the sub-systems, creating functional specifications, preparing conceptual deigns, layout etc.
  • Organizing and coordinating activities with safety and reliability engineering to ensure that design meets requirement and semiconductor equipment industry norms.
  • Work with Vendors to design, manufacture, test and making sure designed product meets all required specifications
  • Organizing the design reviews, releasing the designs for production, overseeing its manufacturing, helping manufacturing building and/or testing of these designs.

  • Excellent analysis and trouble-shooting skills
  • Strong organizational skills, creativity, organizational acumen, and leadership skills. 
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: BSEE or MSEE
  • Hands-on experience in electronic circuit design (analog, digital), development and associated electrical board design, troubleshooting and validation
  • Solid understanding of AC/DC Power distribution systems
  • Understanding of and experience in signals and controls
  • Cable harness design, documentation, and fabrication.
  • Proficient with few EE CAD SW such as PSPICE, LTSPICE, AutoCAD, MATLAB, Zuken etc.

Preferred:

  • Experience of power distribution and/or control system design of complex systems
  • Experience with industrial electronics, control systems, and I/O
  • High voltage power supply design
  • Ability to work with vendors to implement your designs in a timely and cost-effective fashion
  • Practical RF engineering design practices such as shielding, power supplies, RF measurements, calibration techniques and signal analysis
  • Experience with RF products and systems
  • Knowledge of the Semiconductor industry, plasma, and capital equipment experience
