Role Description:

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support CSBG’s growth at our Fremont CA campus.  The primary job function will be CIP and R&D activities in the semiconductor equipment industry designing and analyzing mechanical systems, equipment and packaging, conducting feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.  Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.



  1. Design and develop hardware
  2. Projects may include one or a combination of multiple disciplines that include identification and evaluation of concepts for fluid flow, heat transfer, mechanics, vacuum systems, RF/plasma, and controls. Includes optimizing designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  3. Rapidly generate design concepts that will develop into detail drawings to manufacture those concepts.
  4. Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
  5. Organize, participate and lead design reviews
  6. Conduct feasibility studies – including generation of well documented test plans

Location: Available in both Fremont, CA and Tualatin, OR.


Desired character traits:

Strong skills and experiences in problem solving, time and priority management, communication, and project management. Ability to act in their area of expertise and peer to a well-qualified team is highly desired, including actively participating in design reviews, reviewing and providing feedback on others work including presentations, drawings and models, and communicating ideas and results to other engineers and management. 



Semiconductor industry experience is not required but a plus. What is required is a strong design background coupled with solid engineering skills.
