The Impact You’ll Make

As a Metrology Process Engineer at Lam, you will work with advanced technology to achieve atomic-level precision, significantly contributing to the development of cutting-edge semiconductor processes. You will collaborate closely with top-tier process technologists to provide exceptional metrology solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Work at swing shift: 2pm-10pm.
  • Perform professional metrology applications development.
  • Provide support and ownership within key areas of the corporate metrology lab (CD-SEM, HVSEM, and other metrologies as needed).
  • Make recommendations to enhance overall lab performance and workflow.
  • Help develop metrology lab capabilities.
  • Perform regular evaluation of key metrology assets using SPC methods.
  • Define problems and objectives, develop approaches, analyze large data and image sets with programming, and provide recommendations.
  • Plan, conduct, and direct complex projects or major phases of significant metrology lab development projects.
  • Utilize recognized technical expertise to further capabilities and reduce time needed to generate end-customer solutions within Lam.
  • Provide leadership, clear direction, and guidance to process technicians to support execution activities.

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics; or
  • M.S with 3+ years of relevant work experience; or
  • B.S with 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • This is a graduate eligible role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with working in a cleanroom laboratory setting.
  • Hands-on experience in SEM, FIB, e beam lithography, photolithography.
  • In-depth understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Proficient in Python, or other similar scientific computing language.
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Interest in advanced technology and an on-going desire to learn.
  • Experience working in a collaborative and matrixed environment with diverse teams, semiconductor customers, and/or partners.

Salary

 

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $82,000.00 -  $181,000.00.

 

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
