Provides technical ownership to drive process engineering projects to validate concepts to develop advanced equipment & process control strategies for new and unreleased products and process applications, especially those involving analysis of etcher parameters related to wafer data.

Takes leadership of assigned tasks with responsibilities of instituting and participating in experimental projects, corrective actions and following through to assure proper release and hand off of solutions to appropriate receiving organizations such as multiple internal programs requiring process engineering support thru to Field Process/Field Service organizations managing alpha/beta evaluations of control system products. 

Expected to demonstrate capability to lead sub-projects with cross functional communication responsibilities, especially defining problems clearly addressed by process engineering and development teams.  Acquires and applies basic engineering theories, methods and research techniques in the investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical problems.  Conducts and designs, well defined experiments and tests pertaining to the development of new use cases by collecting critical data needed.  Collects data, analyze results, generate reports, and provide recommendations with justifications relevant to potential application developments. 

Contributes as required, in the design of test plans, data collection, data analysis, process monitoring/control development, evaluation, and complete bottom up validation documentation.  Will provide support to a variety of projects with supervision required.  Additionally, the position entails mastery of our newest etch and software products and the dissemination of best known methods both to and from the field as well as with the development engineering organizations.

Strong preference for process engineer with complementary capability/experience in lithography, OPC, process control, analytics (statistical, multi-variate, machine learning and/or big data), profile modeling or software systems engineering.

Minimum Education:

PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or related preferred.


Valuable background:

- System engineering experience with optical and electrical sensors, plasma diagnostics, process control knowledge.

- Experience with mathematical and statistical data analysis techniques: Matlab,  C++

- Familiar with some of the following techniques: reflectometry, interferometry, spectroscopy, machine learning methods, optical sensors.


Minimum Experience:

5+ years’ experience in the semiconductor industry or relevant PhD work.  Must have demonstrated analytic capabilities for designing and executing test plans computationally and experimentally. Must possess excellent communication and/or customer management skills and demonstrated technical problem solving experience. Fab experience, lithography, semiconductor equipment, plasma physics or process control experience are all positive additional criteria for consideration
