Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership to cross functional teams consisting of business development, engineering, manufacturing, field service, and suppliers during development up through product release phases, specifically with a focus on development of advanced chamber materials.
  • Develop and execute experimental test plans on lab equipment on-site, and analyze data against success criteria to validate product performance
  • Document testing results in reports and presentations, create and/or update end user technical documentation, products specifications and supplier procedures.
  • Present on project status and final engineering results at various settings including business organization level review meetings.
  • Coordinate offsite testing execution at Lam Research customers or vendors for evaluation of new design, material or coating/finish method.
  • Provide engineering support for supplier issues by dispositioning material, offering technical guidance, and driving root cause/corrective action determination.
  • Provide engineering technical assessments of new projects to estimate scope of resourcing needed, including potential project approach, key risks, costs, duration, and engineering headcount.
  • Provide engineering support for resolving customer escalations related to product issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • MS degree in the following technical fields: Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering; Advanced degree PhD desirable, but level of work experience also considered
  • Minimum of 5+ years applicable experience and manufacturing processes and design, preferably in the semiconductor industry preferred
  • Strong project management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, hypothesis tests and statistical modeling methods, as well as a high level of proficiency with statistical analysis software such as JMP, Origin, or MiniTab
  • Experience in risk identification and mitigation efforts, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), problem solving and Root Cause-Corrective Action (RCCA) methodology
  • Knowledge of plasma chamber equipment subsystems and operating principles
  • Demonstrated capability for hands-on equipment testing and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word software
  • Fluent in English language, both writing and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering with 3+ years applicable experience in semiconductor industry.
  • Experience in materials development and characterization
  • Experience in technical leadership of cross functional teams
  • Experience with wafer metrology equipment such as SEM, CDSEM, Ellipsometry, and Optical Defect Inspection
