The Impact You’ll Make

We are looking for a regulatory compliance specialist with 8+ years of experience in managing the compliance of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and related products to applicable environmental and safety regulations and industry standards. The independent and adaptable candidate will be responsible for ensuring that Lam maintains a sharp focus on the constantly evolving regulatory landscape applicable to Lam’s products, and that Lam continues to be positioned to respond in a proactive manner. 

What You’ll Do

You will work directly with our engineering community, supply-chain management, and fellow product safety and environmental engineers to ensure evolving regulations are monitored, assessments of impact are prepared, and  Lam’s interests regarding proposed regulations are clearly communicated within Lam and to regulatory agencies in collaboration with other industry stakeholders (e.g., within SEMI) or directly in collaboration with Lam Government Affairs and Legal Compliance staff. You will participate in cross-functional teams, blending your regulatory knowledge with strategic planning to ensure regulatory compliance of Lam products.  

Responsibilities

 

  • Monitor global EHS and adjacent regulatory actions that may impact Lam products
  • Work with applicable Lam stakeholders to assess impact to Lam products and business processes
  • Work with applicable Lam stakeholders, prepare actions necessary to message and comply with applicable regulations, including creating and revising engineering process and policy documents.
  • Help drive Lam’s understanding, response, and implementation of SEMI EHS standards that impact Lam’s products
  • Explain to management the foreseen impacts to Lam products
  • Assess and measure affected Lam organizations’ implementation of actions to comply with applicable regulations
  • Create regulation explanation, action-plan, and action-status slide decks (and other documents) for a variety of audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, sciences, or related applicable discipline
  • Familiarity and experience working with international regulatory agencies, legislative bodies, and their agents to understand, assess and influence final rulemaking
  • Applied knowledge of regulations such as EU REACH, EU & China RoHS, EU CE Marking, NFPA, and EU EMC as it relates to high-tech capital equipment
  • Experience in applying SEMI safety guidelines to semiconductor manufacturing equipment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Adept at independent and collaborative work priority adjustment.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
