Job Responsibilities

 

 

This position is in Lam’s Deposition Products Group (DPG) located in Fremont, California. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with practical vacuum, thermal and semiconductor equipment experience.

 

The Mechanical Engineer will design, build, test and release a variety of piece parts and assemblies used in semiconductor equipment.  This can range from parts and systems used for gas delivery, vacuum pumping, thermal control, structural support, wafer handling, motion control and reaction chambers.

 

Success in this role requires knowledge of:

                       

  • Mechanical design
  • Semiconductor equipment
  • Vacuum system design
  • Thermal systems
  • Gas delivery systems
  • Machining/part fabrication
  • Typical release processes
  • Parametric CAD experience, specifically CREO/ProE.
  • Systems and systems integration                               
Minimum Qualification

 

                                  

  • Minimum of a BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience in semiconductor equipment or related relevant design
  • Ability to rapidly generate design concepts and implement them
  • Strong problem solving, analysis and trouble-shooting skills

 

Additional required skills and abilities include the ability to work with vendors to implement designs in a timely, cost-effective manner; strong organization, creativity, and team leadership skills; organizational acumen; professional communication skills; and the ability to work well in a cross functional team environment.

 

Experience beneficial for this role includes design, analysis and release of mechanical designs, and knowledge of thermal systems, control systems, vacuum and gas delivery systems; knowledge of the semiconductor industry, release procedures.
