Job Responsibilities
Recognized as an industry leader in new material development. Demonstrated a strong track of record in bringing a new material from concept to production in semiconductor industry. Prior experience in utilizing of AI and quantum computing for the new material design is an added advantage. Exercises independent judgement in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results, meeting program deliverables and timeline.
- Develop new materials from concept to production
- Initiate, and lead new materials, process, and equipment development efforts targeting emerging industry requirements
- Collaborate internally with various business units
- Collaborate externally with customers, suppliers, peer companies and research institute/universities
- Contributes to the state of the art and Lam's technical position with technical solutions and intellectual property. Can write and present publishable technical papers; typically, would have multiple ongoing patent applications.
- Drive integration of pilot tools and processes to enable scale-up of materials and product designs from R&D to robust, high-volume manufacturing
- Continuously improve and optimize processes for manufacturability, performance, and increased yield
- Design and execute systematic experiments to advance the fundamental understanding of the effect of process variables
- Devise process control plans and troubleshoot process issues via SPC review, root cause, and failure mode analyses

Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering or equivalent field
- 10 years recent, hands-on experience in new materials, process, and equipment development and integration
- 5+ years of experience in leadership roles managing and mentoring senior level PhD scientists and engineers of various disciplines while managing research and product development projects
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device manufacturing process flows
- Demonstrated ability to apply statistical techniques to process development and improvement
- Excellent at cross-functional innovation, working with process, product design, reliability, and systems engineering teams
- Direct experiences in yield, integration, device, or process engineering organizations, or in the development and integration of novel materials systems
- Strong track record of innovation and managing successful technology development programs
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
