Position Overview:

  • Responsible for Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management System performance related to Lam’s Fremont R&D and Manufacturing site.
  • Provides technical support to Lam’s Livermore site, as requested.
  • Manages a dynamic team of site EHS professionals with multiple skill sets
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental, health and safety and handles all contact with appropriate agencies.
  • Oversees and manages hazardous waste activities for the Fremont and Livermore campuses.
  • Oversee the development, planning, and implementation of the EHS Management System including environmental, health and safety policies, procedures, business processes and prevention initiatives for the Fremont campus.
  • Assist affected business groups with the establishment and routine business reporting of EHS objectives, goals, strategies and key performance indices.
  • Participate in Global EHS initiatives as required
  • Develop and deliver required EHS training and conduct routine audits to ensure EHS Management System and strategies are working.  Makes adjustments as necessary.
  • Use appropriate communications and escalations to inform upper management of all EHS related events including, but not limited to injuries, illnesses, emergency incidents, including updates until root cause, corrective and preventive actions are identified and implemented.
  • Participate in the development of projects and prevention initiatives as well as participate in incident investigations



  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, influence, manage and drive results.
  • Ability to apply EHS and regulatory knowledge to business decisions including the development of implementation plans for applicable requirements.
  • Strong ability to manage change relative to EHS aspects associated with people changes, equipment and process changes.
  • Ability to run an effective meeting with focus on problem statement and results.
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional teams to meet project objectives, with a focus on measurable results.
  • Can recognize the need, and effectively escalate in the event of conflict or misalignment threatens the success of a project.
  • Strong computer literacy skills including mastery knowledge of Microsoft suite (excel, word, power-point) skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence and drive message on complex content, in front of peers



  • Knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations and industry EHS-related standards
  • Has technical experience in occupational health and safety with a strong emphasis in chemical safety. 
  • Has experience and knowledge in the area of environmental management including, but not limited to Water, Air, Waste and ISO 14001
  • 10 years of EHS management experience with at least 5 years of either semiconductor/electronics industry  experience
  • Process Safety Management techniques, knowledge and experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Science or Engineering required
  • Masters degree or related work experience preferred
  • PE, CSP, CIH or other certifications preferred
  • ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 lead auditor status preferred
