·Negotiations - Serves as Team Leader for most contracts negotiations and re-negotiations. Negotiates performance-based, preferred supplier agreements, to provide incentive for continuous supplier improvement.
·Strategic commodity management - Works independently to develop and apply a strategic commodity plan, in order to define a preferred supplier base for the commodity. Represents GSM (global supplier management) in cross-functional, strategic commodity teams formulating and aligning on overall supplier strategies and ensures internal/external customer needs are satisfied. Develops and manages supplier sourcing strategies.
·Supplier performance management - Communicates Lam KPIs for supplier performance management to suppliers and monitors supplier performance against those KPIs. Regularly evaluate cost, quality and delivery benchmarks. Review monthly scorecards.
·Technical development - Encourages and coordinates early supplier involvement and collaboration between suppliers and engineering in highly technical and/or contractually complex new products/parts design to optimize quality and manufacturability.
·Supply management – Ensures sufficient capacity ahead of demand. Develops Lam’s procurement and inventory control strategy (e.g., JIT, Kanban, cons).  Assists Purchasing team to assist in the research, development, and implementation of solutions to supply issues.
·General – Builds strong supplier relationships, and maintains current knowledge on relevant trends by personal contact, industry reports, trade journals, etc.
