This position is part of the Global Supplier Management (GSM) organization. In this position, you, as a supplier business manager, play a vital role with the metal machining suppliers.  You will have the opportunity to work across organization functions to resolve delivery, cost, and production challenges, as well as opportunity to develop excellence in manufacturing and operations for the metal machining supply chain.


Primary Functions and Performance Objectives

  • Serve as Team Leader for most supplier Global Agreement negotiations, renegotiations and contract addendums.  Negotiates performance-based, preferred supplier agreements, to provide incentive for continuous supplier improvement.  Advises commodity team leader on strategic plans.
  • Defines metrics and monitor supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement.  Regularly evaluate quality and performance benchmarks, and the risks associated with the preferred supply base selection. 
  • Encourages and coordinates early supplier involvement in highly technical and/or contractually complex new products parts design using the suppliers’ expertise to optimize quality and manufacturability.
  • Works independently to develop and apply a strategic commodity plan to define a preferred supplier base for highly technical and/or contractually complex commodities. 
  • Represents supplier business management on a cross-functional strategic commodity team that focuses on strategic supply challenges, and to ensure internal/external customer needs are satisfied.
  • Maintains current knowledge on relevant trends by personal contact, industry reports, trade journals, etc.


Qualifications:
 

  • Result-driven, self-starter possessing strong interpersonal skills with a strong focus on supporting customers
  • Possess the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, to adapt to changing priorities and to work independently in a close-knit team setting.
  • Creative thinking and strong problem solving capabilities
  • Solid analytical and written/oral communication skills with ability to communicate cross-functionally and with various levels of the organization including Executives
  • Good understanding of machining manufacturing, operations and cost  
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance
  • International & domestic travelling
  • Previous project management experience and knowledge of basic project management concept
  • 5+ years of experience in a Supply Chain, Operations, or production/planning environment.  Preferably in Semiconductor industry.
  • Proficient at leading Cross-Functional Teams without direct line authority
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited University a must
  • Advanced degree (MBA) from accredited University a plus
