Position Overview:

Seeking experienced person with knowledge of Semiconductor Processing Equipment chemical handling systems, including gas and liquid delivery systems, pumps, exhaust lines, and abatement systems. Knowledge and experience with safely managing flammable and pyrophoric materials and their by-products is preferred.  Additional experience with analytical equipment (FTIR, MS), tool emissions testing, and stack emissions testing would be a plus.  The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Work with Deposition Product Group and Site Facilities to provide exhaust management solutions for new products and processes to ensure exhaust lines can safely handle flammable/explosive process tool gas mixtures
  2. Provide support for point of use abatement issues at the Tualatin facility
  3. Assist in the writing and updating of the Effluent Management Guidelines for Deposition tools, required for customer tool installations
  4. Attend Design Review meetings as needed, and proactively identify relevant design issues associated with Lam Research Deposition equipment.  Assist in reviews of new or current part designs that handle process chemicals (gas box, delivery systems, chamber, pump forelines, pumps, pump exhaust lines, and POU abatement units.)
  5. Assist the Deposition Product Group in analytical testing (FTIR, QMS, etc) to solve tool problems and for tool emission measurements per SEMATECH Guidelines for Environmental Characterization of Semiconductor Equipment
  6. Assist with the stack testing of abatement exhaust and house exhaust using EPA methods
  7. Be the first safety point of contact for new chemistry reviews and approvals for the Tualatin facility.  Perform flammability evaluations that provide the needed dilution to prevent flammable/explosive mixtures
  8. Assist customers with their implementation of exhaust line safety features
