Snr Staff Systems Engineer – Global Products Engineering – Fremont, CA
 

Summary
We have a unique opportunity for a Snr Staff Systems Engineer as a team member in the Systems Engineering Group in Global Product Engineering. You will work as part of the team in our engineering product development group to develop requirements, assist in project scope requests, establish characterization programs at the system and sub system level, define test plans and help manage system level risk as products are brought to market. Position is located in Fremont.
 

Responsibilities:
This person will be developing semiconductor fabrication equipment and systems for Etch/Deposition/Clean semiconductor markets. This person will represent the systems engineering group and be responsible for the systems engineering deliverables.  

  • Initial focus on development of the Smart Parts and Sensor Roadmaps for Platform Engineering
  • Converting Marketing Requirements into Engineering Specification
  • Creates system specifications for the entire process/transport module. Decomposing the system to main sub-systems.
  • Ability to identify and address early in the development process risks and opportunities
  • Manages DfX tradeoffs and resolves technical conflicts between different disciplines
  • Conducting system architecture analysis and developing models
  • Designs experiments to characterize sub systems and systems
  • Statistical Analysis of Variation and SPC methods
  • Setting Reliability and Productivity Objectives
  • Driving Reliability plans and improvement (IRONMAN methods)
  • Familiar with various etch, dep and clean process technology
  • Ability to execute and deliver against tight time schedules.
  • Develop cost reduction tradeoffs, yield improvement, and cycle time reductions.
  • Database information management (QuickBase, JMP, Excel, etc.)
  • Team leadership with demonstrated ability to motivate and work with other technical resources.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8 years experience; or equivalent experience 
  • 8+ years' technology/engineering experience with semiconductor fabrication products.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities with attention to detail
  • Extensive tool knowledge and understanding of current and the future business drivers
  • Successful track record of working within a matrix technical environment
