The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.  

 

The Impact You’ll Make

As a UX Designer, you will lead the user experience efforts for the WAFER platform. You will be responsible for developing and implementing UX guidelines, conducting user research, and designing user interactions and experiences. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our field engineers, ensuring they have the best tools and interfaces to perform their tasks. You will collaborate with other UX designers, product management, development, and other stakeholders to create a seamless and user-driven design.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the UX design efforts for the WAFER platform, ensuring a seamless and efficient user experience for field engineers.
  • Develop and implement UX guidelines and processes, coordinating with other teams to ensure brand compliance.
  • Conduct UX research to understand user needs and pain points and translate findings into actionable design solutions.
  • Work with product managers to drive the future evolution of the product.
  • Develop and establish a UX intake and execution process, and drive UX research initiatives.
  • Champion user-centered design (UCD) methodologies and integrate them into the team's approach.
  • Communicate the value and purpose of UX research to the team and stakeholders, and effectively present findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams and departments to ensure a cohesive user experience.

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience; or master’s degree with 6+ years’ experience; or a PhD with 3+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of proven experience in UX research and design.
  • Experience with user-centered design (UCD) and the ability to cultivate this approach within the company.
  • Familiarity with UX research methodologies, including designing, executing, and communicating results.
  • Experience designing for enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems or customer relationship management (CRM) systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics and SAP.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-UX team members.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies and tools like JIRA or equivalent.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% to understand field users' needs and requirements.

  • Leadership and the ability to champion UX within the team and the company.
  • Strong voice and perspective, with the ability to influence and guide others.
  • Ability to quickly understand and document business processes and elicit information from others.
  • Passion for driving change and improving software engineering practices.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

 

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $116,000.00 -  $250,000.00.

 

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
