The Impact You’ll Make
The Vice President, GIS Operations will be a transformative leader, responsible for architecting and executing the company’s next-generation IT strategy to accelerate digital transformation and mature IT operations. Reporting to the CIO, this strategic role will ensure GIS is optimized to drive business growth, operational agility, and innovation.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the VP will be at the forefront of reshaping IT to serve as a catalyst for digital transformation. This role will engage with leadership to drive the modernization of IT platforms, enhance the scalability of infrastructure, and establish a technology foundation that enables data-driven decision-making, automation, and new digital capabilities. The VP will play a pivotal role in ensuring IT is not only a support function but a strategic enabler of business success.
What You’ll Do
Technology & Digital Transformation Strategy
Partner with the CIO and executive leadership to develop a technology strategy that accelerates digital transformation and positions IT as a key driver of business value.
Redefine IT’s role in the organization, moving from a traditional support model to a proactive enabler of digital-first business strategies.
Drive the modernization of IT infrastructure to support cloud-native applications, data-driven decision-making, and AI-powered automation.
Align IT investments with enterprise-wide digital initiatives, ensuring agility, scalability, and business impact.
Enterprise Infrastructure & Operations
Lead the evolution of IT infrastructure to support a rapidly digitizing business landscape, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
Drive the adoption of next-generation networking, compute, and storage solutions to enable seamless digital operations.
Implement cloud-first and software-defined infrastructure strategies to increase agility and cost efficiency.
High-Performance Computing (HPC) & Advanced Workloads
Oversee the architecture and optimization of HPC environments to support AI/ML, big data analytics, and complex computational workloads.
Develop a strategic roadmap for integrating emerging technologies such as quantum computing and AI-driven simulations.
Cloud & Hybrid Environments
Lead the transformation of IT infrastructure to a cloud-first model, ensuring flexibility, resilience, and cost-effectiveness.
Establish a hybrid and multi-cloud strategy that enhances digital capabilities, accelerates innovation, and supports enterprise applications.
Ensure seamless integration of cloud platforms with on-premises and edge computing environments to enable a connected digital enterprise.
Artificial Intelligence, Automation & Data Strategy
Champion the use of AI/ML, automation, and data analytics to drive digital transformation and enhance decision-making.
Implement enterprise-wide AI and data governance frameworks to maximize the value of data assets.
Lead initiatives to infuse AI and automation across IT operations, enhancing efficiency, scalability, and resilience.
Scale-Out Storage & Data Management
Architect and manage large-scale, distributed storage solutions to support the growing demands of AI, IoT, and big data initiatives.
Ensure scalable, high-performance storage environments that facilitate real-time data processing and analytics.
Develop long-term strategies for data lifecycle management, ensuring security, compliance, and business continuity.
Cybersecurity, Compliance & Risk Management
Redesign IT security frameworks to support digital transformation, embedding security into all aspects of IT architecture and operations.
Implement a zero-trust security model to protect digital assets in a cloud-centric and highly connected environment.
Ensure IT governance, compliance, and risk management strategies align with evolving regulatory and industry standards.
Leadership, Change Management & Talent Development
Lead the cultural and organizational shift required to transform IT into a digital-first function, fostering a mindset of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.
Develop and mentor a high-performing IT team equipped to lead in a digital era, ensuring strong capabilities in cloud, AI, automation, and cybersecurity, through skills development and hiring strategy.
Communicate the IT vision and digital transformation strategy effectively across all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with a proven track record in driving IT transformation.
- Deep expertise in enterprise infrastructure, cloud, AI, HPC, and scale-out storage solutions.
- Experience leading large-scale IT modernization initiatives to support digital transformation.
- Strong knowledge of IT governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to influence C-suite executives and drive technology-led business change.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and executive communication skills.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
