Job Responsibilities

Lam Research is currently seeking an HR Leader with broad business expertise delivering solutions for organization capability to drive successful business outcomes. This position reports to the CHRO and is a member of the HR Leadership Team.

The VP of Human Resources will act as a strategic partner for the Products & Technology organizations. These responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic HR plans that are aligned to Business Strategies and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) goals.

Establish a strong partnership with Business Leaders across the CTO office, Deposition & Etch business units.  Serve as a Sr. HR Business Partner Leader in strategic support of the overall business objectives and strategic geo-vision. Focus areas will include employee engagement, succession planning, talent management, organizational design and effectiveness, employee relations, recruitment and selection, compensation.

The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs communicating needs proactively and partners to develop timely and practical solutions, to do so must maintain an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its short and long-term plans, its culture and its competition and be able to contribute to the initiatives of the company.


  • Work in collaboration with Senior Executives and HR colleagues to set a vision, diagnose, architect and execute change within and across areas of Lam. 
  • This role is responsible for aligning company and business objectives with employees and management.  This key role is a member of the client management team(s) and actively drives discussions and transfers best practices from different functions in the organization.
  • Create value for the company by collaborating effectively across organization units and the industry ecosystem.

  • Think and act strategically and create differentiated value for customers.
  • Foster rigorous discussions and make decisions, hold everyone accountable for results, and scale operations.
  • Participates in leadership team meetings to develop operating plans and ensure that the function has the people, organization and culture to enable it to execute effectively to meet near term and longer-range goals.
  • Partners with key business leaders on opportunities to leverage people to meet organizational objectives, identify key business issues and the related people, organizational and cultural implications.
  • Collaborate with the HR COEs (Compensation and Benefits, Learning & Organizational Development, Talent Acquisition, and HR Operations) and other HR leaders on all elements of the HR delivery model to ensure delivery of world-class cost-effective HR solutions, services and programs to address critical business needs.
  • Use data driven HR business insights to provide solutions and recommendations to management.
  • Manages 4 direct reports (Sr. Director level) with a total team size of 8 located in both U.S. and APAC regions.
  • Operates as both a strategic and operational HR leader.




Minimum Qualification
  • MBA or Master’s degree in related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 15 years overall HR experience.
  • Minimum 8 years HR leadership experience, including support of a leadership team in a high tech, semiconductor or industrial/manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualification
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills (both written & verbal)
  • Deep knowledge of Human Resources practices and a demonstrated ability to provide solutions in a complex and fast-moving environment
  • Previous experience in a combination of the following HR disciplines (e.g., compensation, organization development, employee relations, staffing, performance management).
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to lead change management activities in the organization.
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity, credibility and results orientation.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, leadership capabilities, including people development, objective setting, and measurement skills
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities. Be self-directed and motivated.
  • Proven ability to effectively engage and build relationships with all levels of employees and management and across various functions
  • Strong analytical & systems skills; demonstrated ability to drive data-based decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Ability to prioritize, oversee multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, leadership capabilities, including people development, objective setting, and measurement skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence HR professionals in a shared services environment.
  • Experience in coaching, training, and developing employees in a high-performance culture.
  • Ability to take the initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and recommend solutions.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced business with global markets.
