As chipmakers move to advanced technology nodes, they are challenged to resolve ever smaller features and meet HVM productivity targets. Lam’s is bringing to market a breakthrough dry photoresist technology which addresses critical needs for improvement in EUV lithography resolution, productivity, yield, and environmental footprint.

 

Dry photoresist is enabled by Lam’s leadership in patterning, etch, and deposition technologies, leveraging co-optimization of the patterning process from resist application and stack deposition through final etching and cleaning. 

General Information

Lam is leading a collaboration with imec and ASML to optimize patterning process and explore EUV patterning limits for existing and future high-NA EUV scanners.  We are seeking an EUV lithography material and process expert to join our R&D team based at imec in Leuven, Belgium.

 

The selected candidate will work with multidisciplinary Lam Research and imec teams (Photolithography, Metrology, Dry Etch, Wet Process) to study, characterize and optimize EUV dry photoresist material.

Job Responsibilities
  • Technical leadership in EUV dry photoresist process at Lam Belgium
  • Ownership in specific C&F projects related to development and characterization of materials and associated processes for EUV lithography
  • Drive collaboration engagement with imec AttoLab and ASML high NA scanner
  • Characterization of exposure and development kinetics during lithography processing
  • Work with the team to design and execute experiments in imec 300mm semiconductor cleanroom using state-of-the-art technology.
  • Characterize patterning performance with state-of-the-art metrology and defect inspection tools
  • Document and communicate plans, status, and results of R&D projects in written reports and presentations, including the analysis and interpretation of data.
  • Closely work with technical teams at imec, ASML, and other Lam sites
  • Participate in JDPs meetings, communicate results generated within JDP
  • Regularly update professional skills, maintain follow-up of technical development.
  • The job will require limited international business travels and evening meetings to connect with teams from different time zones.
  • Valid work permit/visa for EU is required.
Qualification and Experiences
  • University degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science
  • Minimum 10 years experience in semiconductor manufacturing, state-of-the-art photolithography, etch, and metrology equipment preferred
  • Experience in analytical and in material characterization techniques such as XPS, XRR, XRD, SIMS, ellipsometry.
  • Familiar with working in a chemical laboratory
  • In-depth understanding and working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of  Experiments (DOE)

  • Capable of working independently and to complete projects in a timely manner
