As a Process Engineer at Lam, you will operate on cutting-edge technology, harnessing atomic precision, material science, and surface engineering to push technical boundaries. Your role involves developing new and advanced process formulations, defining equipment hardware to meet processing requirements, evaluating test data, and coordinating design requirements to ensure compatibility of processing methods. Your expertise and knowledge play a crucial role our customers success, making an impact on the next generation of semiconductor breakthroughs.

What You’ll Do

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Develop and fine-tune thin film and dimensional metrology recipes for advanced process demonstrations, focusing on spectroscopic ellipsometry among other techniques.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality metrology services, from initial request through solution implementation.
  • Monitor and ensure the performance and stability of metrology tools through rigorous Statistical Process Control (SPC). Collaborate with suppliers to achieve high tool uptime via proactive Preventive Maintenance (PM) and responsive Corrective Maintenance (CM).
  • Support the implementation of new metrology tools and technologies, contributing to continuous improvement in metrology capabilities.
  • Engage with global metrology teams to minimize discrepancies in methods and services and optimize overall metrology capabilities.
  • Actively listen to the feedback from internal customers, identifying and bridging gaps to enhance metrology solutions' effectiveness and customer satisfaction

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry with 2 years of relevant work; or
  • M.S. with 5+ years of relevant work experience; or
  • B.S. with 7+ years of work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working in cleanroom environments, particularly with 300mm wafer metrology tools
  • Advanced expertise in ellipsometry, reflectometry, and other optical metrology techniques. Experience in electron beam (e-beam) metrology is a significant plus
  • Deep understanding and practical application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) in a metrology context
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities to meet business objectives and deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a track record of fostering collaboration and building strong relationships with team members, internal stakeholders, and external partners
