Lam Research develops semiconductor manufacturing solutions for the world’s leading chipmakers. We make the tools that make the chips that power your world. This position is with the Global Operations Finance team and the position will support the Cost Accounting organization.

Essential Experience:

  • Advanced Excel skills, including Macros and Visual Basic, and Microsoft Access with the ability to manipulate large amounts of data, create models and analyze results with speed and accuracy.
  • SAP experience within the Logistics module to support cost accounting functions.
  • Very strong, accurate accounting skills with attention to details and the ability to meet a very compact month and quarter close schedule.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to create detailed reconciliations, including complete analysis under rigorous deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task, flexibility to reprioritize tasks in a constantly changing environment.
  • Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills.

Functions and Duties:

  • Analyze and review Bills of Material (BOM) and standard costs to ensure accurate product costing;
  • Design and analyze complex spreadsheet models for Lam’s factory, including labor absorption, amortization, Cost of Goods Sold, Inventory and Production Order Variances;
  • Complete monthly close responsibilities related to manufacturing costs, labor and overhead absorption, work-in-process inventory, ensuring timeliness and accuracy meeting stringent deadlines;
  • Provide inputs in projects and cost reduction initiatives as the subject matter expert for cost accounting;
  • Provide leadership for the Company's Cost Roll inventory standard cost update process;
  • Provide support to the Deposition Product Group business partners who are principally located in Tualatin;
  • Manage standard cost requests in the cost accounting email inboxes; provide timely response and action to resolve issues and close requests;
  • Perform standard cost rollups on a periodic basis and provide revaluation impact analysis;
  • Identify cost accounting process improvements to facilitate scalability and streamlining;
  • Partner with Operations personnel to influence and support their key objectives;
  • Work closely with cross functional operations business partners and the Finance teams (Europe, Asia, U.S.) on critical tool shipments, annual operating plans, metrics, cost roll, variance reporting, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX 404 internal controls and compile documentation to support requests from internal and external auditors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related area;
  • Minimum 8 years of experience including 3 years of Manufacturing accounting in a manufacturing environment;
  • Ability to understand the manufacturing environment and the associated financial processes, experience preferred;
  • Ability to effectively analyze transactional level detail in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, preferably prior SAP experience
  • Strong business skills and effective understanding of financial, distribution and manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to multi-task, flexibility to reprioritize tasks in a constantly changing environment and completion of responsibilities by deadlines;
  • Consistently demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills to collaborate and build positive relationships with other Finance teams as well as other organizations to effectively make recommendations, implement process improvements, etc.
