Managing Director, Supply Chain

Articulates vision and objectives for the commodity strategies that this individual is responsible for and plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective execution of these strategies. Develops, implements, and maintains executive level supplier relationships to enable the commodity strategy. Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, by establishing capacity plans with suppliers. Manages customer delivery risk by holding suppliers and team accountable to execute to commitments and lead time. Establishes supply chain architecture to best reduce delivery risk. Drives structure problem solving during escalations to eliminate repeat supply problems quickly and permanently. Decides on supplier status (promote/exit). Responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials, utilities and services, as well coordinating global commodity strategy. Manages risk by establishing supplier business continuity plans and identifying, forecasting and minimizing financial risk through the balance sheet review process. Reviews and plans cost reduction and cost avoidance strategies. Establishes relationships with Product Line, Product Management and Engineering executives to understand the needs of the commodity strategy and to accelerate time to market through supplier performance.  Accountable for the rapid prototype materials program (RPM) for Global Ops and establishes structured and measureable agility strategies for those commodities not included in RPM. May work with customers in presentation of supply chain strategy and programs. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.


Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 15+ years of related experience and 12+ years in mgmt. An advanced degree preferred.
