Job Responsibilities

NOTE:  This position is for Day Shift. 

Day A: Sun, Mon, Tues, alternating Wed. 5:45 a.m. – 6:15 p.m.

Day B: Thurs, Fri, Sat, alternating Wed. 5:45 a.m. – 6:15 p.m.


Test Tech IIIs perform setup and calibration of semiconductor capital equipment tools. They evaluate and follow testing instructions to meet specifications based on drawings and schematics. They test and troubleshoot circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.  They may complete rework on assemblies.  They also prepare technical reports, summarize findings and recommend solutions to technical problems. Make recommendations for improvement. 


•Conducts testing of systems, process modules and sub-assemblies

•Troubleshoot and identify root causes of failed tests

•Fix/correct issues found (to the extent possible in the testing location)

•Document issues found (in tool logs, iQMS, escalation logs etc per factory specific processes)

•Document rework requirements (and execute them in cases where it is possible to be done in the test location).

•Escalate issues when root cause is unknown

•Report testing progress to leads (per factory specific processes)

•Write NCi’s for all non-conforming material encounted each shift

•Keep work area clean and organized – conduct 5s/6s each shift


Other Job Responsibilities

Job Scope:

•May provide training and technical assistance to fellow technicians

•Participates in semi-complex side projects and completes tasks in creative and effective ways

•Understands and role models continuous improvement


Safety Protocol

•Must be able to squat, kneel, walk, climb, stand, and reaching outside neutral for over 50% of the time as well as the ability to lift 25 pounds.  Additional, must be able to distinguish colors for wire identification.

•Perform LOTO procedures by isolating energy sources with a LOTO device and following ZEST protocols.

•Adheres to personal and product safety guidelines by donning PPE and following safety and clean room procedures.

•Keep your workspace organized and clean by following 5S procedures.

•Perform RMBWA (risk management by walking around) and take corrective action immediately.

•Report safety issues/hazards


Technician Tasks

•Inspect parts for acceptance and correct or escalate as required; communicate issues with leads and supervisors.

•Measure resistance/continuity/voltage by using digital multi-meters.

•Indicate tasks are complete by utilizing I-marking, SQIP marks, and use of Swagelok go/no go gauges.

•Document abnormal conditions and tool reminders per factory specific processes.

•Perform leak checks (vacuum, water, pressure decay) by utilizing appropriate equipment (i.e. fixtures) and procedures (Cell Fusion and KM Matrix); verify check completed by utilizing the proper indicator (I-mark, gauge, etc.).

•Install components/hardware by referring to drawings and Cell Fusion procedures; identify/position/assemble required parts according to instructions and utilizing correct hand tools and fixtures; escalate non-conforming parts and procedures as needed.

•Understand tool status and find tool information by utilizing various SAP commands and set up specialized equipment by gathering required fixtures from on the floor shelves/storage bins.

•Resolve issues by troubleshooting/performing rework. Identify issue, access traceability to determine how it should have been done.


•Report/Document/Review Tool status and use the proper escalation path

•Record hours worked on each tool by documenting time spent on certain tasks per factory specific processes.

•Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others including peers and supervisors, and maintaining them over time in person, by telephone, or in written form.

•Participate in improvement projects by meeting and corresponding with other Test Techs, Leads, Supervisors, Engineers and Vendors.

•Provides information and responds in a timely manner to supervisors and co-workers by telephone/written form/e-mail/in person to ensure work flow and keep to the production schedule

•Effective written and verbal communication skills in English

Minimum Qualification

Specific Job Skills:

•Utilize computer-based data systems —SAP, Share Point, KRONOS

•Navigate and use Office software — Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook

•Operate and use Hand Tools including but not limited to: Calipers, Wrenches, Hoists, digital multi meters, Screwdrivers, Torque wrenches, Ladders/platforms, Snipping tools/cutters

Education and/or Experience:

•Associates degree in electronics or related field required and/or equivalent military experience that includes electronics, such as avionics technician

•Typically requires a minimum of 2-4 years of semiconductor capital equipment industry

Job Conditions:

•The ability to exert yourself physically over 12 hour shifts, in tight spaces, in clean-room gowns

•Can work in a fast paced and time-sensitive environment

•Able to perform repetitive motions
