  • Spares Repairable Part Panning:  define part planning levels across multiple regions and customers sites so that we have the right part at the right place at the right time

GSO is a $2B revenue business governed by four Operational Objectives:

  • Quality of Service:  consistently and reliably deliver operational performance to an agreed upon set of Service Level Agreements (Key Performance Indicators, or KPIs)

  • Another Adoption program includes tracking FSE use of Repairable Parts.  Lam has saved $7M over the past 18 months by using more Repairable Parts versus newly purchased Parts.  This has been through educating FSEs the value of using Repairable Parts.  At the same time, we monitor FSE behavior and work with FSEs who are not taking advantage of lower cost alternative.
  • Develop Value Stream Maps in order to find Lean opportunities.  Most recently, a recent New College Graduate developed the Hot Order Escalation Value Stream Map.   The organization was able to outline key process changes and identify key Robotic Processing Automation (RPA) opportunities.  Through Leaning the process and then Automation, the exercise highlighted a 15% efficiency gain while also reducing chance for human error.
