OVERVIEW

As a Leader in Lam’s Global Logistics Operations organization, this critical position requires a passionate, driven leader who will architect and deliver strategic directions to the organization’s distribution network, ensuring the company is positioned to be a winner in a complex, fast paced, highly competitive industry.  Initial focus will be to outline a global transportation network of in-bound supply, multiple manufacturing site across the globe, and a high, volume after-market Spares network to support increasing complexity due to Lam’s Build-Anything, Build-Anywhere strategic initiative. 

 

This executive position resides within the Global Logistics, Inventory, Spares organization (GLIS), as part of the Global Operations organization (GOps).  This person will collaborate across the GOps, specifically with Supply Chain, Order Fulfillment (Production Control), Manufacturing, and Spares Operations.  Location of the position is in Livermore, CA and will include worldwide travel.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Oversees the planning and controls the flow of materials, products, services and related systems information from point of origin to point of delivery. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to supply chain services, inventory control, or critical parts availability, material handling, import-export licensing, third-party warehousing and shipping/receiving activities. Develops and implements logistics plans, budgets, and procedures to maximize compliance with customer needs within budget constraints. Provides financial reporting and reconciliation of inventories. Exhibits thorough understanding of international Letters of Credit and other forms of banking documents and international shipments. Interacts with vendors and peers in Manufacturing, Sales, Finance, and Product Development personnel to optimize systems and procedures. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience, preferably with a minimum of 5 years in executive management roles.
  • Has worked in an executive leadership role within a global matrix managed multi-site company with manufacturing and supplier operations spread over multiple continents with at least $1 billion in revenue.
  • Demonstrated business orientation and proactive leadership that identifies and anticipates problems, issues, and risks to a project outcomes and manages those issue in advance of a critical situation.
  • Demonstrated success at using rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
  • Proven record in leading a large organization to new level of performance
  • Has led and developed high performing teams and demonstrated ability to maintain and engage staff.
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills across multiple cultures in North America, Europe and Asia
  • Be able to lead & influence technically strong employees
  • Believe, practice and reward core values (achievement, honesty and integrity, innovation and continuous improvement, mutual trust and respect, open communication, ownership and accountability, teamwork, think: customer, company, individual)
  • Executive presentation skills for internal and external executive presentations
  • Operational background required
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma Master blackbelt preferred
  • Experience in Semi-Conductor or High-Tech Industry preferred

 

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Business Operations or Engineering Equivalent, MBA or equivalent post graduate qualification desirable
