The position is responsible for the integration of a lean program into the strategic imperatives of a Global Operations function, the application of lean skills across that function by employees in support of functional objectives, the training and coaching of those skills in a project environment and implementing an effective change management program within the function.

 

The person will collaborate with leaders/stakeholders on strategic initiatives and work on the planning, designing, and accomplishing of a Lean Six Sigma project portfolio that accomplishes measurable business process improvements related to those initiatives.

They will work directly with leaders in the organization to identify and recruit high performing individuals into the Lean Six Sigma program and develop and deploy succession plans for rotational black belts/green belts.

The individual will matrix manage/coach and train a team of cross-functional Black Belts/Green Belts working on the project portfolio that will support the business goals of the function by developing a strong competency in lean six sigma techniques to remove waste and reduce variation in functional processes.

Including demonstrated knowledge/experience of:

Customer focus (internal and external), critical thinking and creative problem solving, teamwork and collaboration, employee development and effective communication skills. Open to challenging the status quo, strong in strategic thinking and business acumen.

Lean Six Sigma principles and track record of successful projects in an operations context. Scrum methodology, DMAIC and DFSS, Lean manufacturing, Statistical methods, Strategy development and application, warehousing and/or logistics management in a capital equipment or service parts environment.

Leading and contributing to diverse and geographically dispersed cross-functional teams, including team members who are not direct report, and large-scale initiatives in a process management role; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to communicate and connect with all levels of the organization.  Ability to deal with conflicts in a cross functional environment. Ability to use personal influence to build positive working relationships with subject matter experts.

Minimum of 5+ years of enterprise-wide process and systems integration experience; along with 10+ years of previous management experience with direct reports required.  Training and practice with lean six sigma deployment and change management.

Preference to have a Masters level education and a certification in Lean Six Sigma Master black belt.
