This position is part of the Global Supplier Management (GSM) organization. In this position, you, as a strategic commodity manager, play a vital role in the Mechatronics and automation supply chain commodity.  You will have the opportunity to work across different functional organizations to lead and manage strategies, align the supply chain to technical roadmaps, capacity, delivery, cost, contracts and business continuity risks.

The Sr. Strategic Commodity Manager selected should be a result-driven, self-starter possessing strong interpersonal skills with a strong focus on supporting customers.  This individual should also possess the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, to adapt to changing priorities and to work independently in a close-knit team setting.

Job Responsibilities
  • Individual actively participates in various cross functional teams as the representative for the Mechatronics Commodity.
  • Leads the Mechatronics cross functional team made up of Supplier Quality, Operations, Procurement with Product Group participation.
  • Architects Multi-year vision and strategy for the commodity that addresses technology, capacity, global footprint, delivery and quality needs at the lowest landed cost.
  • Manages project plans to meet strategic objectives associated with the vision and strategy.
  • Ensures availability of materials in the supply chain as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels to meet lead time and flexibility initiatives.
  • Responsible for sourcing decisions that balances capacity requirements across Lam’s suppliers that takes into consideration suppliers’ overall performance.
  • Coordinates with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory, cost savings and cash flow management.
  • Ensure adequate capacity to support current and future demand requirements with the supply base.
  • Own, manage and create commodity and supplier business continuity risk management plans. 
  • Manages several global and domestic suppliers in the Mechatronics space that support multiple product lines across Lam Research.
  • Negotiate, maintain and administer various agreements such as global purchase and inventory contracts.
  • Align strategies, recovery plans, operational issues and projects across multiple functional organizations including manufacturing, customer service and product groups.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in industrial or mechanical engineering or Business with concentration in Supplier Management
  • Proficient in MS applications such as excel (macros, pivot tables, vlookup, etc..), power point, Kinaxis Rapid response, Power BI, SAP
  • Ten+ years industry experience in Semiconductor or technology centered business. Experience the design, operational experience associated with precision integration, automation or mechatronics products.
  • Proven ability to gain partnerships and excel working and leading in a cross-functional environment with new product introduction, manufacturing, quality and reliability engineers as well as procurement, finance, and product support
  • Effective communication and presentation skills across multiple organization.
  • May require up to 15~25% travel
