Job Description for Technical Program Manager 1


The Technical Program Manager 1 position is part of the Supplier Material & Technology (SMT) organization.  SMT supports Lam Research through the innovation and management of supplier manufacturing processes, materials, and technology.  As a technical program manager you will be responsible for the execution and improvement of one or more business processes that allow SMT's supplier engineers to ensure the quality of Lam’s supply chain.  You will also have the opportunity to drive business results by participating in cross functional teams within the supply chain. 


Candidate should be a results-driven self-starter possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills.  This individual must also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be able to excel in complex and ambiguous environments as part of a team. 

Job Details

Manage 1 - 3 established SMT business processes which are critical for the success of SMT Operations.  Management of these processes will include development of the IT systems used to run the business process, monitoring the daily execution of the process to ensure the process achieves organizational goals, developing and maintaining training programs for team members so that they can use the process, and driving the continuous improvement of the process.  The Technical Program Manager must

  • Effectively communicate with users and stakeholders on process success and opportunities for improvement
  • Use risk based thinking to prioritize effort, plan and execute risk mitigation strategies and escalate issues when required
  • Monitor metrics and drive corrective actions when required 


Must have

  • Data analysis mindset
  • 0 - 10% Domestic Travel



  • Supply chain, quality or manufacturing experience
  • Process creation and improvement experience
  • Experience in project management



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited university or commensurate experience/education
