Job Responsibilities

 

Lam's Test Engineer 3 designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment for all phases of product development and manufacturing. Also prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products. Will plan the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.

 

Job Duties:

 

  • Work cross functionally with Design Engineering and the Pilot group for new product development
  • Ensure PDR/NSR deliverables are in place including test fixtures, test procedures, test specifications, and control charts
  • Conduct validation on all new test software and fixtures
  • Define, design, document, build, calibrate, troubleshoot, and support all manufacturing test fixtures
  • Improve product quality through test first pass yield and trend data
  • Analyze factory non-conformances and field escalations for root cause and corrective action
  • Resolve test issues cross functionally with suppliers, Supplier Engineering, Pilot Manufacturing, and Design Engineering
  • Define and implement metrics to lead test process improvements

Qualification

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mechanical Engineering with electronics
  • Three+ years’ experience transition testing new products to move from Pilot to Manufacturing
  • Software skills to create/modify manufacturing’s test scripts
  • Presentation skills to present test fixture designs, test processes or spec changes at engineering design reviews
  • Technical writing skills to communicate and document designs and procedures
  • Working knowledge of SAP functions for manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of basic electronics
  • Basic programming skills

 

Additional skills required for success in this role include verbal communication skills to discuss technical issues with suppliers, Supplier Engineering, Pilot Manufacturing, and Design Engineering; and the ability to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal technical guidance.

 

Skills and abilities beneficial for this role include experience with vacuum and/or pressure control systems; knowledge of vacuum leak checking techniques; basic mechanical skills; and previous work with semiconductor capital equipment.
