The Impact You’ll Make

The Trade Operations Analyst facilitates key import and export activities to support the strategic global manufacturing distribution trade model.  Your in-depth knowledge and experience in import and export trade operations and compliance, including FTZ manufacturing sub zones, contributes to continuous improvement in a complex environment. 

 

The Trade Operations Analyst will work to achieve its cost and service goals by analyzing the flow of import-export transactions and developing improvements, employing in-depth knowledge and experience to answer questions regarding Incoterms, FTZ policies, Free Trade Zone operations, and trade compliance regulation matters. Provide operational Trade Compliance advice to diverse business groups, including supply chain, logistics, shipping, receiving, and sales operations, and work with cross-functional teams to drive program improvements. Optimize Trade Operations efficiencies, while emphasizing operational compliance. The role requires the candidate to interact with both internal and external partners at all levels.

What You’ll Do

Valued contributor in the following key areas of Trade Operations:

  • Trade Operations procedures, programs, and site establishment
  • Ensure shipments in and out of Lam Research’s Foreign Trade Zones are handled in a timely, efficient, cost effective, and compliant manner
  • FTZ operational performance including bonded shipping, receiving, inventory control, FTZ admissions
  • Collect and analyze data from the FTZ Administrator, brokers, and consultants to produce meaningful reports and KPIs
  • Partner with key stakeholders to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action plans and process improvements at the FTZs
  • Handle daily operational issues related to exporting shipments, documentation, processes, and corrective actions. Focus on root cause corrective actions
  • Review and provide input to update FTZ manuals, standard operating procedures, etc.  Draft work instructions and procedures related to Trade Operations
  • Provide FTZ trade compliance training and on-site support to all FTZ locations in the U.S.
  • Identify opportunities to take advantage of duty-saving programs, assist with ROI analysis and program implementation.
  • Identify, resolve, and escalate Trade Compliance issues, as needed
  • Monitor and support AES filings, provide training on regulations, and initiate corrections when applicable
  • Monitor and support customs entry processes, perform preliminary review of customs entries and initiate corrections when applicable.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Economics, Finance, or closely related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a similar role.
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS).
  • Working knowledge of U.S. customs regulations (import and export), and U.S. Foreign Trade Zone regulations.
  • Foreign Trade Zone administration experience highly sought.
  • Able to demonstrate skills, speed and efficiency in data management and reporting, including month reporting of key metrics.
  • Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate with all levels and disciplines.
  • Requires minimal supervision and operates independently, recognizing when consultation is required.  Defines own objectives
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience with ACE beneficial.
  • Experience with SAP advantageous.

Salary

 

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: Min $71,000 -  Max $165,000.

 

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
