ORGANIZATION:         Supply Chain Management

REPORT LINE: Directly report to Material Manager

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Coordinates purchasing activities with MFG and Spares departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner. Acquires and maintains technical understanding of products purchased. Performs volume planning for major commodities. Obtains materials, components, equipment and services. Develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate. Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure highest quality at best value. May recommend cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis, alternative sourcing and vendor evaluation criteria

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

This position will include, but is not limited to, roles and responsibilities assisting the following activities;

  • Performs cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities
  • Plans, buys and negotiates cost and delivery of materials required to support repetitive commodity spares needs. 
  • Determine material requirements for assigned high dollar value/critical commodities from MFG, engineering and Spares schedules.

     

  • Business Impact (e.g. strategic focus, decision-making authority)
    • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
    • Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Financial Management (e.g. financial/budgetary responsibilities, Impact on revenue/expenses)
    • Drives the process to ensure program success by meeting correct budget, time and specification requirements.
  • Report Structure & Work Relationship
    • Frequently interacts with supervisors, customers and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.

      POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

       

MINIMUM EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or related field

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • More than 7 years of related experience
  • Knowledge on semiconductor equipment, structure and functions
  • Familiar with semiconductor or high-technology supply management practices, standards and organization
  • Familiar with service and support business models and practices
  • Professional concepts; applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Technical Skills
    • MS Office intermediate
    • ERP familiarity, SAP expertise strongly preferred
  • Customer Relationship Management Skill
  • Communication Skill
    • Good command of English
    • Effective communication in inter-departmental and cross cultural environment

Valued but not required skills and experience

  • Experienced in value engineering and lean manufacturing environment
  • Advanced computer proficiency
