The Impact You’ll Make

As a Test Engineer at Lam, you'll design and implement efficient testing methods for product development and manufacturing, improving quality and reducing cycle time. You'll perform diagnostic tests, design test features and equipment, and create detailed specifications for new products. Your strategic planning of labor, schedules, and equipment ensures effective testing operations. Join us in shaping the future of precision and reliability at Lam.

Primary responsibility working on a team developing and supporting deployment of the next generation testing strategy and platform for testing of semiconductor capital equipment on a web-based cloud hosted platform for a worldwide factory network. Working to modernize and optimize the testing process qualifying Lam semiconductor equipment driving commonality between the global factories improving quality and customer experiences.
 

What You’ll Do

Primary focus will be working on a global team as a test engineer based in Korea, supporting the rollout of new testing strategies that both leverage the Gemini platform and other technologies to improve the quality and efficiency of Lams manufacturing process.

• Take ownership and accountability for the successful deployment of projects into the Korean factories working closely with other members of the global team
• Build relationships with the community of test engineers in both Korea and globally to understand their challenges and collaborate on solutions.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand process and system requirements, and deliver enhancements based on a changing technology landscape.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement projects from inception to impactful results.
• Become a global expert on the Gemini platform and all supporting sub applications used world wide.
• Work to improve customer experience by partnering with field installation teams to reduce installation and qualification of Lam systems.

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/controls engineering, manufacturing engineering, computer Science or related field
• Proven experience in test engineering, working to qualify complex assemblies or systems before shipment(7~12 years)
• Strong understanding of software as well as control of system architecture to build out efficient and effective ways to validate build quality and improve data collection
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Solid understanding of risk management, budgeting, and resource allocation principles.
• Experience working in the technology industry, preferably with hardware/software projects performing validation of functionality and build quality
• Should have good hands-on experience with Python as this is the base language of the future test platform.
• Good communication skills in English (written/speaking)

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient in Python programming
• Knowledge of Python frameworks like Flask and Django
• Virtual Machines
• Experience of test development with positive and negative test scenarios
• Experience with Java, C++, Small Talk
• Serial, Ethernet, Socket, Modbus, Firmware protocol
• AI platform integration
• Ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
