Position is for a high travel (70-80% possible), highly independent, experienced Level 3 or higher Etch or Deposition Field Service Engineer.  Assignments will include all aspects of Field Service such as diagnosing, troubleshooting and repair as well as installations support, sustaining support of Lam Etch or Deposition equipment.  This position will require international travel.  Frequent customer interaction experience is required.

 

Essential Job Functions

 

The Engineer performs on-site service and repair of LAM Etch or Deposition Semiconductor processing equipment in a Clean Room environment at a customer site.  This entails the following:

 

  • Provide preventative maintenance of equipment and attends to equipment issues
  • Order and replace defective units, components, or parts
  • Install and/or relocate equipment, and conduct associated start-up of newly installed systems
  • Perform field modification and updates, as per Engineering Change Notifications
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and conduct diagnostic procedures to isolate the root cause and correct the issue, to minimize downtime or system interruptions and eliminate equipment malfunctions
  • Identify corrective actions; escalate issues for prompt resolution
  • Respond to emergency calls as required
  • Maintain records and reports
  • Remain current on equipment/tools through appropriate training, manuals, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate logs, service records, part usage documentation, and other management reports
  • Train and mentor Engineers and customer employees
  • May travel based on assignment from 30-80%

Education

 

Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
