Responsible for providing quality on-site repair and maintenance service of complex electro-mechanical systems. Analytical troubleshooting of technical problems to component level. Performs complete installation/relocation start-up services.





  • Leads installations.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electro-mechanical and process related problems. 
  • Assists in complex upgrades.
  • Initiates and leads escalation problem solving.


Performs application related Project Management, which includes

  • Assists in the planning, management, and execution of projects of a limited scope and duration.


Leadership function

  • Provide technical instruction and mentoring for Engineer Levels 1 & 2.
  • May provide on-site instruction to sub-contractors and customers.
  • May be responsible for certifying Field Service Engineers according to certification program



  • Advises to effect design changes.
  • Regularly contributes to key technical solutions, technology and process development.
  • Monitors/analyses equipment performance trends


Customer relation

  • May be Lam representative at customer management meetings. Professionally represents the company to the customer.
  • May be required to provide regular updates to the customer on the status of the Lam tools.
  • Required to present escalation action plans and status.



  • Detailed interaction with Customer Support Business Group/Global Product Group for escalations.
  • Furnishes Engineering and Manufacturing with technical information.
  • Initiates escalations, quality investigations and Product Reviews.
  • Frequent business travel required.




  • BS/AS degree in Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or related field (4 yr Bachelor degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of applicable experience. Previous semiconductor capital equipment industry is an advantage
