Job Responsibilities


The Regional Trade Operations Analyst is responsible for controlling shipping documents for international shipment from/to Europe and intra-Europe shipments to make sure all shipping documents are meeting Trade compliance requirements. For this purpose, the Regional Trade Operation Analyst will lead and carry-out regular internal organizational audit function of regional import and export Trade declarations and Trade compliance protocols, including contribution to planning, execution, and reporting of internal and external Trade compliance audits.  In addition, this position is responsible for providing back-up support to Lam’s EMEA Logistics Operation.


Administration will entail: 


  • Oversee EMEA Customs Trade declarations, including Customs post-entry review and Export filing processes
  • Oversee review of EMEA regional Trade compliance measures, including preparation of audit reports that identify potential deficiencies, risks, and issues, recommend corrective actions 
  • Design and implement internal audit process improvements to further enhance current comprehensive audit plan; provide innovative and creative ideas to formulate new audit approaches
  • Coordinate internal audit risk assessment and planning process (i.e. define coverage, schedule audits, collaborate with global resources, manage Customs brokers, monitor KPIs, etc.)
  • Update EMEA policies, procedures and programs, as necessary
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for inquiries from internal & external customers, third-party service providers, including but not limited to Customs Brokers, Bureau of Industry and Security.
  • Actively assist in preparation, management, and response to audits by Customs authorities regionally.
  • Provide expertise and training to EMEA Spares, Logistics and Field Operation staff on the audit process

Other Job Responsibilities

  • Regular communication and coordination with Global Trade Operation and Foreign Trade Management and Staff and other functional groups to drive continuous improvement
  • Establish a collaborative working relationship with regional customs brokers, logistics, and supply chain groups
  • 10% - 15% Travel to support regional customs audits
  • Organizes and implements a variety of responsibilities related to the flow of materials, products, services, and associated systems information. Duties involve but are not limited to Field Operation support, supply chain services, inventory control, critical parts availability, material handling, import-export licensing, shipment of products, and third-party warehousing. Evaluates customer support and field service commitments to ensure customer requirements are met. Serves as liaison between Field Service Operation and Trade Operations /Logistics teams to develop concepts and coordinate product knowledge; provides data analysis for production planning and volume studies; and participates in process/rating improvement efforts. Assists in developing logistics plans and procedures.


Minimum Qualifications

  • BA degree in Business Administration or equivalent/applicable experience
  • 7-10 years of work experience with at least 5 years of Trade Compliance administration including import/export audit requirements
  • Very good knowledge of EMEA Customs Regulations and U.S. Export Administration Regulations/Federal Regulations/ Customs Entry
  • Solid experience in International Logistics, Customs Compliance,
  • Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Access reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent English in verbal and writing, business English skills required
  • Additional language skills will be helpful to support EMEA region.
  • Organized, accurate, and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional groups
  • Proactive and flexible with a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in shift based on business needs to cover potential random weekend support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade Compliance Related Certifications a plus (e.g. Certified Customs Specialist, Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer)
  • Knowledge and experience with regional import operations a plus
  • Working knowledge and experience with tariff classification a plus
  • Experience with Other Government Agencies a plus
