Lam Research’s Legal department is currently seeking an ethics and compliance professional, who will be based at one of Lam’s locations in Asia, with broad experience in developing, implementing, and managing an ethics and compliance program and infrastructure. Specifically, this individual will be responsible for providing advice to in-house clients on a range of topics including conflicts of interest, anti-kickback, and anti-corruption. This individual will conduct internal investigations, within Asia, and will ensure that employee or third-party concerns are addressed in a prompt and thorough manner. The Director, Ethics & Compliance (Asia) reports to the Director of Ethics & Compliance in Fremont, CA.
- Maintains and updates Lam’s ethics and compliance policies, procedures and guidelines
- Reviews concerns raised through the Ethics & Compliance helpline or other channels, determines the appropriate action to be taken, including the investigation scope and plan.
- Oversees or conducts internal investigations through every phase, including discovery, witness interviews, findings and recommendations.
- Stays current on enforcement and compliance requirement trends, identifies potential areas of risk, documents such assessments, and proposes and ensures appropriate individuals are assigned responsibility for oversight in risk areas
- Develops and delivers training and communications programs to educate employees and management and promote ethical and compliant culture
- Evaluates effectiveness of program elements and recommends and implements improvements based on such evaluation
- Manages conflicts of interest clearance and pre-approvals for gifts and entertainment
- US law degree and US practice experience
- 10 plus years’ experience, including substantial experience in conducting internal investigations and/or litigation, preferably involving transnational laws such as anti-corruption laws and human resource matters
- Strong experience in internal investigations
- Extensive knowledge of US and other country anti-bribery regulations
- Ability to influence key decisionmakers at senior levels of responsibility
- Strong work ethic, team player
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to travel within the region
- Asian law degree
- Experience in or exposure to semiconductor industry
