The Impact You’ll Make

Your main role will be to ensure that Lam Research comply with regulatory and safety requirements. You will be is responsible for administering and coordinating the organization’s Workplace Safety and Health Management Systems, processes and policies. This will include conducting safety inspections, closing audit findings, reviewing workplace risk assessment and coordinating safety training for all personnel. Successful incumbent will be the point of contact for physical security in Singapore Office and a key member of the SEA BCP (Business Continuity Plan) team, responsible to ensure that the business continuity plan is up to date and support the coordination of annual BCP tabletop exercise.

What You’ll Do

  • Inspect and examine any machinery, equipment, plant, installation or article in the worksite for potential violations and assess the level of noise, illumination, heat or hazardous substances in the worksite and the exposure levels of persons at work.
  • Investigate any accident, dangerous occurrence or occupational disease that occurred within the worksite and coordinate with stakeholders and relevant authorities when an accident occurred.
  • Employ risk mitigation strategies, and environmental and safety requirements for the business unit by identifying safety lapses and provide solutions to improve. Execute to aligned action plans to close the identified gaps. Conduct audits and safety briefings to ensure conformance to Lam’s and customers’ safety requirements, policies and procedures and report/assist in any accident / injury/ near misses’ investigations.
  • Establish mechanisms to implement and monitor compliance requirements such as advise and assist with job analysis, risk assessment, job instruction training, safe work procedures, method statement and track and ensure that all Lam personnel attend required training such as Construction Safety Orientation Course and other related Environmental, Health & Safety training for employees, including new hires, contractors and loaners.
  • Take appropriate action to halt any conditions that may result in imminent hazard to persons, property, or the environment and perform the role of Safety Assessor for the inspection of Permit-to-work system.
  • Notify the local EHS manager of any unresolved compliance issues and situations, and seek EHS guidance in implementing corrective actions as needed; facilitate and promote the exchange of information within the business unit and with EHS in the interest of collaborative problem solving and program improvement. Represent the business unit on EHS committees (Customer meetings) and provide regular briefings to stakeholders on safety program status, trends and risks. Identify PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements and sourcing of approved supplier for procurement. Assist in applying special permits if certain work is required (e.g. hot work, working at tall heights etc), including facilitating the application / renewal of licenses and liaise with relevant authorities for license / permit issue and maintain worksite safety records, certificates, notices and documents and manages internal WSH systems, coordinates government agency or customers visits, inspections and compliance audit at the workplace and submit audit reports to relevant stakeholders for review.
  • Lead a team of contract EHS officer / coordinator, ensuring that adequate resources are deployed to support different customers sites and any other Safety, Health and Environmental related duties as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Processes relevant qualification recognized ty the Ministry of Manpower
  • Must be a registered Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer with the Ministry of Manpower
  • At least 10 years’ experience handling a WHS in a manufacturing site, preferably in the electronic or semiconductor industry
          •  
  • Possesses strong inter-personal and communications skills, both in written and spoken English
  • Comfortable to interact with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Meticulous and maintains detailed and accurate records.
  • Possesses good analytical and problem solving skills

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
