Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the commercial trade compliance and supply chain support in Asia by ensuring that initiatives / projects are delivered to scope, on time and on budget
  • Responsible for duty mitigations, Inco terms, legal entities, tax and duty impacts
  • Manage the Trade Operations for the Penang High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) Factory. This includes oversight and direction for the development of Malaysia factory tax and duty mitigations, managing duty exemption / LMW(FIZ) assessment and applications, collaborating with internal Legal, Tax, Foreign Trade and Finance stakeholders.
  • Oversight of the daily operations management and daily supply chain logistics needs. This includes supporting the interim Malaysia factory on duty exemption development & develop standard operating procedures on this process, collecting parts lists, collating and consolidating, follow up with broker and oversee shipment entry process
  • Support Asia sourcing where oversight and management is related to international trade issues and corelated to warehousing and freight decision making. This includes transportation vendor qualifications, collaboration on port level route planning with Logistics (Finished Goods) team and Singapore & Malaysia brokerage management.
Other Job Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise the day-to-day work & projects of his direct reports.
  • Manage competency & manpower resources within team to fulfill the need among different customers.
  • Responsible for the annual Performance Management & Development exercise of his direct reports.
  • Responsible for the training and development of his direct reports.
  • Develop and mentor high-potential personnel in order to continuously build a stronger team as well as provide opportunities for qualified internal personnel.
Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor Degree in Logistics Management or related field
  • 15+ years’ experience across logistics, trade compliance, air freight, transportation and warehousing
  • Strong hands-on experience in Inco term management & implementation and contract management
  • Experience in developing strategic logistics / trade solutions (FTZ) and working with international brokers
  • Extensive knowledge in industry best practices (Warehousing / Logistics / Transportation /Trade Zones
  • In depth knowledge on US and Singapore/ Malaysia trade related regulatory regimes

  • Highly competent communicator who can successfully interact with cross functional teams, sponsors, management and business partners
  • Effective negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple processes and projects
  • Ability to see the big picture and grasp complex interconnections, self-driven, and “a bias for action”.
  • 20 - 25% travel will be required, covering mainly Malaysia and occasional travels to Korea and Taiwan
