The Group You’ll Be A Part Of

The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.

 

The Impact You’ll Make

This role is in the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) group at the Tualatin, Oregon campus.   You will help lead and manage the emergency response team (ERT) program.  You will lead the readiness of the site by ensuring that response team members are trained and have the equipment to respond effectively.  You will collaborate with other EHS group members to help enhance and execute other EHS programs and policies. 

What You’ll Do

The main responsibility of this role is to execute the emergency response team (ERT) program at Lam Research’s Tualatin campus.  Responsibilities extend to participating in the development of EHS standards and training. Other EHS related functions may include supporting site incident prevention program reviews, performing hazard assessments and site emergency readiness reviews, conducting EHS related training and participating in other Lam Research EHS initiatives.

 

  • Manage all aspects of the Emergency Response program including working with outside consultants for scheduling training and other program enhancements
  • Assist with site risk assessments to determine or review emergency response program needs
  • Collaborate with global ERT leadership for alignment with emergency response initiatives
  • Establish/maintain EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Perform inspections of lab, manufacturing, and logistics operations
  • Support insurance and fire department audits and inspections
  • Coordinate annual fire drills for all campus buildings
  • Support VPP and ISO14001 certification and internal assessment activities
  • Manage and procure equipment inventories for EHS and emergency response needs
  • Coordinate calibration and maintenance of EHS and emergency response equipment
  • Update EHS content on internal SharePoint sites, training modules, and guidance documents
  • Coordinate EHS activities with site departments, vendors and contractors
  • Produce reports from various data sources and summarize data as required
  • Partner and engage with employees and management where needed to drive successful EHS program implementation
  • Actively respond to Emergency Response Team which may include working in a hazardous environment, long standing hours, lifting and utilizing equipment up to 30 lbs. Providing first-aid measures when necessary.
  • Manage conflicting schedules, shifting workloads, and customer needs with a self-driven energy under little supervision.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, safety, science or engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an EHS related role
  • Existing understanding of OSHA regulatory and industry safety standards
  • Highly competent with Microsoft Office products (Excel, SharePoint)
  • Strong communication, leadership, and relationship building capability
  • Root cause and corrective/preventive action development skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS degree in safety, science or engineering discipline
  • CSP certification
  • DOT and RCRA certifications
  • Experience managing an emergency response team (ERT) program
  • Knowledge of the incident command structure
  • Experience in high tech industry
  • Fluent in English
