This role is in the Manufacturing Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) group at Lam Research’s Tualatin, OR campus.

 

The Impact You’ll Make

At Lam, as an EH&S Engineer, you're instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental safety programs and policies. Ensuring compliance with regulations, you'll perform safety inspections, conduct trainings, and oversee hazardous waste vendors and processes. Your expertise spans to life safety, workplace ergonomics, and monitoring industrial health compliance. Acting as a liaison with regulatory agencies you'll not only stay current but also reinforce Lam's commitment to safety and environmental compliance.

What You’ll Do

Job Responsibilities

This role in the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) group is responsible for executing the Manufacturing EHS & Ergonomics programs at Lam Research’s Tualatin campus. Responsibilities extend to participating in development of EHS and Ergonomic standards for Lam Research. Other EHS related functions include supporting equipment design reviews, hazard assessments, supporting the emergency response program, and conducting EHS related training.

Other Job Responsibilities

·   Review research, development, and construction plans against corporate and regulatory standards and provide guidance to engineering and operations teams.

·   Comprehend designs for changes to products, equipment and infrastructure and incorporate EHS related elements to meet internal and external regulatory standards.

·   Lead incident investigations to identify root cause and implement effective corrective actions.

·   Evaluate and use performance metrics to drive goals, objectives, and process changes to create continuous improvement.

·   Work with Managers to drive behavioral safety improvements.

·   Lead the Manufacturing ergonomics program and drive ergonomic improvements to both new and existing product designs.

·   Lead the transfer of equipment designs to High Volume Manufacturing ensuring the reduction of identified safety and ergonomic risks.

·   Conduct exposure monitoring for noise, light, and non-ionizing EM radiation.

·   Review new chemical requests or changes in chemical use and provide guidance on required PPE, risk reduction, and impacts to regulatory requirements.

·   Manage conflicting schedules, shifting workloads, and customer needs with a self-driven energy under little supervision.

·   Provide in person training and informational reports to various sized groups.

·   Partner and engage with employees and management where needed to drive successful EHS program implementation.

Who We’re Looking For

·   Bachelor's degree in environmental, safety, ergonomics, science or engineering discipline

·   Minimum 5 years experience in an EHS related role

·   Existing understanding of OSHA regulatory and industry safety standards

·   Highly competent with Microsoft Office products (Excel, SharePoint)

·   Strong communication, leadership, and relationship building capability

Preferred Qualifications

·   MS degree in safety, ergonomics, science or engineering discipline

·   CSP or CPE certification

·   Experience in ergonomics and human factors

·   Experience in high tech industry
