Environmental Engineer

Job Responsibilities

Develops, implements, and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Environmental programs include stormwater, hazardous waste management, chemical management, air discharge, wastewater treatment, recycling, energy, and resource efficiencies. Performs routine inspections of site operations. Works collaboratively with hazardous waste removal vendors and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes. Conducts reviews for new chemicals and records chemical use requirements. Shares responsibilities for the compliant execution of air and water discharge activities. Interacts with a variety of departments, vendors, and external agencies. Serves as an emergency responder for fire, hazardous material, and medical incidents. Leads incident investigations and recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist. Ensures site conformance to ISO 14k standards and serves as lead during site environmental audits and inspections.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree preferably in engineering, chemistry, biology or environmental science
