Job Responsibilities

Lam Research is seeking a Financial Analyst Specialist who will provide direct financial oversight to ~$200M operating and capital budget for Advanced Technology Development group and Global Products Operations group in the Office of CTO (OCTO).  The analyst will gain first-hand knowledge of advanced technologies and products being developed in OCTO, including the very first Dry Resist & Development products at Lam Research. With direct access to VP-level executives, this individual provides budgetary oversight as well as analytical support for management decisions. Primary activities include but not limited to:

  • Manage financial forecast process and reporting:  

    • Coordinate all aspects of financial planning and reporting, Guide and educate business partners in the preparation of annual operating budgets. Perform periodic updates

    • Present budget and analysis in a comprehensive and easy-to-understand format. Interprets financial results.  Assess risks and opportunities. Offer suggestions

    • Perform scenario analysis

  • Perform monthly/quarterly close processes. Analyze actual operating results and identify key financial and operating issues

  • Responsible for Balance Sheet Review process. Prepare account reconciliations, account variance analysis, and other schedules as required

  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and deep-dive analyses. Provide insights to assist business decision-making

  • Initiate and drive continuous process improvements

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, finance or financial management
  • Industry knowledge not required, but preferred

Skills and Competencies Needed

  • Solid accounting and financial skills
  • Experience working with an R&D organization
  • Strong technical abilities including experience with SAP and advanced Excel. Database and reporting skills including Access, Power BI, Alteryx etc. a plus
  • Good analytical, organizational, and planning skills
  • Must be able to work well with people and promote a team environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting to operations, engineering business partners, and upper management
