Job Responsibilities

Lam Research seeks to recruit an accomplished Human Resources executive with a strong background in Talent Management, Learning and Development and Succession Planning. This is a great opportunity for an individual to define, develop, implement, and lead the go-forward talent management function at Lam Research as a member of the HR Leadership Team reporting to the CHRO.


The successful candidate will possess a strategic as well as operational mindset and have experience implementing a global talent management strategy. This leader will oversee the end-to-end talent assessment, organization assessment and succession planning processes, in addition to leading developmental programs for key talent pools and leading learning and development across the company.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Understand the company’s strategy, identify enterprise-wide talent management needs, and develop methodologies to develop and manage internal Lam talent
  • Lead the learning and development function across Lam, including coordinating with the broader technical learning ecosystem
  • Continuously determine the effectiveness of the current development programs in terms of substance, impact, cost and end result and provide performance measures to evaluate its effectiveness to determine strategic process improvements across the talent management function
  • Experience developing and leveraging a competency framework to inform all talent-related processes and decisions
  • Engage key stakeholders to ensure that there is consistency of standards and approach to assessing and developing talent at Lam Research
  • Strong detail orientation working hands-on in a complex matrix organization
  • Lead, coach and communicate effectively to build strong partner relationships to successfully manage performance of global talent management team. Establish effective working relationships with the regional talent management team members and provide guidance to business leadership on successful succession and development strategies
  • Provide regular management reports summarizing progress towards key metrics and identify trends that have an impact on the business
  • Partner with HR and the Global Head of Talent Acquisition to align executive recruitment efforts with the leadership succession planning and bench strength development efforts
  • Be a significant contributor to the Global HR Leadership Team through effective partnering to drive business growth

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • The ideal candidate will have 15-plus years of human resources experience with significant experience (10-plus years) in managing a talent management function in a medium to large sized global organization.  Experience in broad learning and development is a plus, but emphasis is placed on executive succession planning and talent management architecture
  • Experience leading a Global Talent Management function linking together various regions into a cohesive approach; experience in Asia preferred
  • Experience working in highly complex technology industry; experience in the semiconductor industry experience is preferable
  • Excellent customer relationship management and consultation skills, including influencing and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing talent management strategies, including critical path prioritization and C-level engagement on talent strategies.
  • A creative, strategic thinker who challenges the status quo and fosters unique, but practical approaches to talent management
  • Be coachable and open to embracing new ways of doing things
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Understanding how to balance strategy and business acumen to best invest resources and maximize impact
  • An empowered self-starter able to work without significant oversight and follow through to impactful execution
  • Prowess handling multiple projects, prioritizing and acting with a sense of urgency
  • Must be a US Resident
